ASIAN PARADISE FLYCATCHER
Asian Paradise Flycatcher is a magnificent bird. it belongs to Dicruridae family. it is native to tropics. The species also occurs on a number of islands, including those of Indonesia and the Philippines, Taiwan, and Japan,etc. its size is around 20 cm but it has a very long tail which is almost double its body size. but mostly the females lack this kind of a tail. they have short legs an d sit erect while perched on branches.

it likes to have butterflies, bugs, beetles and other large insects in its meal. quite a noisy bird, it utters sharp calls. these like to bathe during mid-day.

the males change the hue of their plumage in the first few years of their lives.the sub-adults look very much like females but have a black throat & blue ringed eyes. it is migratory wintering in tropical Asia.
it is a monogamous bird. it nests on the ends of low branches of trees. its cup-shaped nests are made with twigs and spider webs. Both the birds incubate the eggs. the chicks are out by about 3 weeks.
