Sugar Painting
1. Sugar Painting is a traditional folk art in China.
2. In this kind of painting, they use hot, liquid sugar (as used in preparing candies) to create two dimensional figures.
3. Mostly children love these sugar painting snacks.
4. Hot sugar, in its liquid form, is spread on a marble or metallic platform using a ladle to create various shapes and designs as asked by the customer.
5. First, the outlines of the figure are drawn and then the filling part is done. The outline of the design is done using thick sugar.
6. Outlines are joined by supporting strands in various forms like zig-zags, swirls and other likewise patterns.
7. Finally, when completed, a thin wooden stick, used to hold the figure, is attached in two or more places with more sugar.
8. Then, while still warm and pliable, figure is removed from the surface using a spatula-like tool, and is sold to the waiting customer, or placed on display.
9. Customers usually select a figure by spinning the arrow on a wheel which will randomly land on popular figures as a dragon, fish, monkey, dog, bird, or flower basket.
9. Visiting temple fairs is one of the greatest ways to enjoy Spring Festival in Beijing. Here's where you can witness the Sugar Painting Art too.
10. When making sugar paintings one should pay great attention to the flowing speed and depth the sugar liquid.
11. The painting should be done swiftly and deftly in case the liquid should curdle after the cooling process.

Eternal Flame Falls
1. The Eternal Flame Falls is a small waterfall in the Shale Creek Preserve, a section of the Chestnut Ridge Park in New York.
2. A small chamber under the waterfall produces natural gas, which keeps the flame alight.
3. Scientists have been thinking that the eternal flame was kept alight by gas produced by ancient, extremely hot rocks.
4. A recent study claims that the scientists' belief was wrong. Researchers from Indiana University have discovered that the rocks underneath the Chestnut Ridge County Park aren't hot enough to produce this gas, which means another process is producing the gas that's keeping the flame burning. But they are unsure what that process could be.
5. There are hundreds of 'natural' eternal flames around the world, and each one is thought to be kept alight by natural gas produced from the rocks beneath it.
6. So you see that eternal flames are quite common but the picturesque created by a lone flame under torrents of water make Eternal Flame Falls unique.
7. These falls are special because massive amounts of water around it could not do any harm to the eternally burning flame.

Nevada's Flying Geyser
Fly Geyser is a partially man-made small geothermal geyser located in Washoe County, Nevada in the U.S. 1. It was not truly a geyser because it originally came about due to a well hole. In 1916, a well was drilled where it stands and produced water for years, until 1960 when heated water from an underground geothermal source broke through a weak spot in the well wall.
2. Water is constantly released, reaching 5 feet (1.5 m) in the air. The geyser contains several terraces discharging water into 30 to 40 pools over an area of 30 hectares.
3. The geyser is made up of a series of different minerals, but its brilliant colors are due to thermophilic algae.
4. The geyser is located in the million-acre Black Rock Desert.
5. Unfortunately, Fly Geyser is not open to the public.
6. The geyser is covered with thermophilic algae, which flourishes in moist, hot environments, resulting in the multiple hues of green and red that add to its out-of-this-world appearance.

Gas Crater "Door to Hell"
This Gas Crater, a giant hole of fire is in the heart of the Karakum Desert , Darweze, Turkmenistan.
1. The Derweze area is rich in natural gas. While drilling in 1971, Soviet geologists tapped into a cavern filled with natural gas. The ground beneath the drilling rig collapsed, leaving a large hole with a diameter of 70 metres. To avoid poisonous gas discharge, it was decided the best solution was to burn it off. Geologists had hoped the fire would use all the fuel in a matter of days, but the gas is still burning today. Locals have dubbed the cavern "The Door to Hell".
2. It’s also worth noting that Turkmenistan has been named by Human Rights Watch as “one of the world’s most repressive” countries.
3. Although the country's natural gas reserves rank fifth in the world, development of gas exports is hampered by a lack of gas pipeline routes outside its landlocked borders.
4. Turkmenistan has the fourth largest reserves of natural gas in the world, producing about 75 billion cubic meters of gas each year.
5. Krasowski visited the gas crater in 2009. He poetically described it as the "greatest campfire in the world."
6. Unfortunatley, the methane-emitting cave is making it difficult to drill nearby gas fields, hindering Turkmenistan's plans to triple its production.
7. A near limitless supply of natural gas beneath the crater continues to fuel the fire.

Stairway to Heaven!
The Haiku Stairs, a.k.a. the Stairway to Heaven, is on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.
1. It’s a steel staircase made up of 4000 steps that ascends a ridge up from the Valley of Haiku near Kaneohe.
2. The steps were built so the military could access a radio station antennae 2000ft up on the mountain during World War II.
3. Stairway to Heaven (Haiku Stairs) trail has been closed since 1987. Neither the State of Hawaii or the City and County of Honolulu have no plans to re-open the stairs. It is illegal to hike this stairway.
4. The stairs are broken up into 4 or 5 sections with platforms to rest on between each.
5. The trail began as a wooden ladder spiked to the cliff on the south side of the Haʻikū Valley.
6. It was installed in 1942 to enable antenna cables to be strung from one side of the cliffs above Haiku Valley to the other.
7. In the mid-1950s, the wooden stairs were replaced by sections of metal steps and ramps — by one count, 3,922 steps. The station and trail were closed to the public in 1987.
8. Some hikers ignore the 'No Trespassing' signs and continue to climb, contributing to the local community's misgivings about reopening the structure.
9. In 2003, the stairs were repaired, costing the city $875,000.
As of early 2012, land usage rights issues have not been resolved.
10. The City and County of Honolulu has stated that there is currently no plan to open the stairs for public use, citing liability concerns.

Walking Underwater
This is a dream come true at the Kanazawa Contemporary Art Museum in Japan.
1. The museum exhibits various kinds of art marvels which appeal to the human eye. Such an artwork is Mr. Leandro Erlich's creation. Out of many things in the museum, you will find a swimming pool framed by a limestone deck. When seen from the deck, the pool appears to be filled with deep, shimmering water.
2. In fact, however, a layer of water only some 10 centimeters deep is suspended over transparent glass. Below the glass is an empty space with aquamarine walls that viewers can enter.
3. This gives an impression to the people near the swimming pool that some people are walking underwater so easily!
4. Leandro Erlich is from Argentina.
