Greater Coucal

I clicked the Greater Coucal I saw in my backyard. The bird came early in the morning as if to wish                good morning.

But to its sadness. it could find no-one there!! :( and it was wandering here and there...

In the photo below, u can see that it is looking towards the kitchen door hoping someone would                    come for her and give her some food. But her patience was in vain.

It was fed up and was searching for food along with another bird.

It is also called Crow Pheasant in some regions of the world. It belongs to the Cuckoo species. It is             widespread in India, China, Nepal and  Indonesia. They often walk on the ground to search for insects,         caterpillars and vertebrates which are their food. These birds are weak fliers. The breeding season is             mainly during June to September.
